Mrs. Dorothy Ann Roach Duke, age 84 long-time resident of the Worthville Community in Butts Co. passed away Friday morning, August 30, 2024, at Pruitt-Health Care in Forsyth, where she had resided for the last few years. She was born Friday August 30, 1940, to the late Toy & Annie Roach in Oglethorpe County, GA.  Dot loved the Lord, and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Mary Lee Jones Sunday School Class. She was a founding member of the Worthville  Volunteer Fire Dept. She enjoyed spending her time arranging flowers and decorating cakes. She loved to cook and deliver meals to the firemen at the Worthville Fire Dept. She and her late husband owned and operated Dukes Store at the intersection of Keys Ferry Rd. several years before their retirement.

Mrs. Duke in survived by her son & daughter-in-law; Toney and Lisa Duke, nine grandchildren; Crystal Bryant, Melessa Mims, Steven Duke, Anthony Duke, Alicia Rogers, Tim Gilroy, Jack Gilroy, Nick Gilroy and Jim Gilroy, and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of nearly 50 years, Franklin H. Duke her daughter & son-in-law, Diane Duke Martin & Jerry Martin along with her brother & sister-in-law, Toy & Barbara Roach.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Ann Roach Duke will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Pastor Daniel DeJong will officiate. Burial will follow the Service in the Worthville Baptist Church Cemetery. You may visit with the Family immediately prior to the Service, beginning at 10 AM or at other times at the residence of Tony & Lisa Duke.
