Eleanor L. Timmins

 Age 94, of Alma, passed away at home surrounded by her loving children on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Eleanor was born February 11, 1930, in Detroit, the daughter of James and Katherine (Cotner) Leonard. She graduated from Central High School in Detroit. Eleanor married Calvin Timmins on May 28, 1960, in Detroit. She was a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church and the Alma Elks. She worked for a few years as a bank teller and after starting her family, she found her true passion in raising a family. Eleanor loved delicious family dinners, talking on the phone with all her family and friends, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and playing card games during holiday gatherings. She enjoyed playing bridge with her Alma friends, four-wheeling at her daughter’s house, watching birds, reading, water aerobics, watching the Lions and Tigers, baking and cooking.

She is survived by her children Susan (Robert) Hick, Daniel (Mary) Timmins, Deanna Timmins, grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Timmins, Jairus (Dani) Timmins and Sarah (Scott) Pohler, great grandchildren Jackson, Brody, Rowan, Billie Eleanor, bonus family Rakesh and Indira Saxena MD, Supriya Saxena, Monica Saxena MD, the Cook and Shannon families and numerous family and friends she has loved as her own.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jim Leonard, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bernice and Wally Hubbard and niece Barbara Leonard.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 am at the Frist Presbyterian Church in Alma, with Pastor Katrina Pekich-Bundy officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Alma at a later date. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or your children’s charity of choice.
