Dorothy Ryan Boggs, age 89 of Claremont passed away August 30, 2024 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She was born July 22, 1935 in Wyandot County, Ohio, daughter of the late Norman Ryan and Christina Reason Ryan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Claremont and retired operator in the textile industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Boggs; son, Bruce Boggs; granddaughter, Kristen Lawson and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in the Chapel of Burke Mortuary in Newton with Dr. Ed Yount officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45PM at the funeral home.

She is survived by:

Son: Michael Boggs of Conover

Daughters: Janet Snider and husband, Scott of Claremont and Linda Mann and Husband, Bob of Delaware

Daughter-in-Law: Alesia Boggs of Hickory

Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
