Sandra Rose Glatter, age 86, of Elm Mott passed away early Friday morning, August 30, 2024 at Providence Health Center in Waco.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Elm Mott United Methodist Church, with Darrel Phillips officiating, assisted by Aryn Mojica. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery near Chalk Bluff. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.
Sandra was born December 16, 1937 in San Antonio, the daughter of Jim L. Arendale and Helen (Janek) Hornak. She attended schools in West and was a 1956 graduate of West High School. On November 21, 1956 she was united in marriage to Johnny Glatter in Waco. Johnny preceded her in death on July 15, 2020. Sandra was a member of Elm Mott United Methodist Church where she served as the PPR Chairman for several years. She was also a member and past President of Elm Mott Riding Club for 40 years, and a past President of Tri County Horse Show Association. She worked for Dr. Marion Carter for many years until her retirement. Sandra enjoyed her younger years as a majorette, drum major, and past band queen. She loved playing girls football, riding horses, making homemade dill pickles, popcorn balls and candy apples. Sandra especially enjoyed hosting an annual Halloween party at her house with full decorations and food of all kinds. She spent her past-time training horses and helping children of all ages who wanted to learn how to ride horses and was ring stewardess for the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo for 11 years. She loved shoeing horses with her husband, Johnny and spending time with her many family and friends. One of her greatest joys was riding around with her grandson going to Czech Stop and Health Camp.
Sandra is also preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Jimmie Lee, Barbara Wilson and Bill Patzakis; and step-father, Edward John Hornak.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Glatter and wife Faith, and Donna Glatter, all of Elm Mott; her grandson, Brandon Flatt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Shawn Kalina, Brandon Flatt, Pete Woodrome, Corey Clark, Arthur Garland, and Austin Benson.
