Huguette Martin Obituary

Huguette “Jackie” Martin, 81, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Laurier “Larry” Martin. She was born in Quebec, Canada daughter of Maurice Chamberland and Alma (Turgeon).
She is survived by her daughter Karen Zdun, son-in-law Craig, and grandson Logan Zdun; Jackie’s son David J. Martin and his partner Brian Mastroianni who reside in NYC. Her “little family” will miss her smile, unconditional love, and praise. Mrs. Martin is also survived by her brother, Harvey Chamberland. In addition, to numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
What she will most be known for is treating everyone with kindness and a compliment. She was a seamstress, golfer, and after 42 years retired from Perma-Type. She loved crafting, photography, and travel. Jackie passed down her ability to see beauty in nature and was especially fond of flowers and butterflies. She showed us the true meaning of strength and courage all her life up until the end. For almost 8 years, she lived on her own with Alzheimer’s.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 7 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol, CT from 9:00am to 10:30am. Funeral service will follow at St. Gregory’s Church, 235 Maltby, Bristol, CT. at 11am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family (St. Joseph’s Cemetery).
