Roy Mack Richardson Obituary

Roy Mack Richardson, age 85, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at Unity Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born September 8, 1938 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Erman Nathan Richardson and Ida Annie Nelson Richardson.

Roy retired as a correctional officer for the State of Oregon. He enjoyed fishing, and being a fishing guide on the Little Red River, mowing the yard, playing cards, watching Gunsmoke, and driving to Sonic to get a strawberry milkshake everyday. Probably the thing he enjoyed most is to aggravate. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had many humorous sayings that the grandchildren remember: “That’s the way the ole mop flops!” and “Got to roll with the flow!”

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Coy Richardson, James Richardson, Michael Richardson, and Clifford Richardson; two sisters, Mary Richardson and Carolyn Richardson; and one great-grandchild, Daemion Mamagona.

Roy is survived by his wife, Fredena Marie (Swift) Richardson; son, Ronnie Richardson of Quitman, Arkansas; two daughters, Rhonda Hall of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and LaDonna Hughes of Stuart, Florida; grandchildren, Shannon Haward, Rachel Hall, Skylar Richardson, and Shane Spencer; great-grandchildren, Gaeb Mamagona, Jacob Hezlop, and Avery Hezlop. Roy will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
