Mrs. Verna Kay Manning, 69 of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away on August 30, 2024 at her home. She was born in Galax, Virginia on March 8, 1955 to the late Raymond Commodore Leonard and Clara Edna Porter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Virgil Ray Melton, a sister, Shirley Burris and a brother, Eugene Vaughan.

Verna is survived by her loving husband, Nathan Manning of Woodlawn Virginia; stepsons, Jason Manning and wife Renee of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Kevin Manning of Asheville, North Carolina, and John Manning and wife Jane of Wilmington, North Carolina; brother, Joe Vaughan of Fries, Virginia; granddaughter, Jessica Lowry, great grandchildren, Maci Lowry and Wyatt Lowry.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday September 5, 2024 at High Country Services beginning at 6:00pm with pastor James Cowley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00pm until 6:00pm.
