Margaret Ruth Morgan Gilbert, 89, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024.
A native and longtime resident of Knoxville, Mrs. Gilbert has lived in Chattanooga since 2007.
She was retired from the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN after 39 years of service.
She was a member of Redemption Point Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gilbert; 3 brothers, Lynn, Jay, and Howell Morgan; and sister, Elizabeth Fowler.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Denver) Huffstutler, Chattanooga; 2 granddaughters, Anna Huffstutler, Chattanooga, Katelyn (Logan) Grider; Cleveland, TN; great-grandson, Olson Denver Grider; 2 sisters, Barbara (John) Ferguson, Acworth, GA; and Dorothy Quinley, Kennesaw, GA.; and countless nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 3rd at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Denver Huffstutler and Rev. Travis Ballinger officiating.
Burial will be at 11 am, Wednesday, September 4th at Highland Memorial Gardens in Knoxville, TN.
