James Douglas Conover, 81, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at his home.  He was born on October 18, 1942 in Easton, PA, a son of the late Charles Conover and Margaret Nixon Conover.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Conover.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Poff and her companion David; four grandchildren, Jennifer Conover, William Abel, Archie Abel and Justin Poff; twelve great grandchildren.

In addition, he was also preceded in death by three children, Christine Abel, and infant children, Cindy and Douglas; three grandchildren, Stephen, Dallas and Lester; siblings, Joyce Encke, Ruth Andrews, Mildred Fritchman, Charles Conover, Jr., and Larry Conover.

James was employed as a sanitation worker for over 30 years, until his retirement, most recently working with Waste Management.

He enjoyed fishing, watching football and playing quoits.
