James Reed Tillman also known as "Jimmy" was born on December 17, 1956 in Evanston, Illinois to late Mary Shelby Tillman and the Late James Reed Tillman. He was the second youngest of his sibling group.
Jimmy was educated in the Evanston/Skokie School Districts 65 and 202. He loved music, sports, family, and those that he considered to be friends. One thing most don't know is that Jimmy could sing. He wouldn't do it often for others but when he did his voice was angelic.
Jimmy's love for his sons Erick, Ta'Sean and De'Angelo was one of a kind, but the love he had for his grands was out of this world. He made sure to talk to them daily.
Jimmy was always the life of the party. Jimmy loved cracking jokes. He held the roasting torch. Jimmy sent out the best holiday and birthday texts which he always ended with his famous saying, "Ain't no fun if Jimmy don't get none!"
On August 17, 2024 Jimmy was called from his earthly home and joined his parents Mary and James Tillman; his brothers, Elliott Roseman and Tris Tillman; and his grandmother, Samantha Shelby.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Erick (Tish) Smith, Ta'Sean (Koverly) Tillman, and De'Angelo (Monique) Tillman; his 11 grandchildren, Julian, Ta'Shai, Isaac, De'Angelo Jr., Brandon, Aidan, Alexis, Dre'Monte, Christian, Maqinn, and Chlo'e, two great grandsons Nasir, and Carson; two sisters, Juanita Ross and Connie King; his favorite cousin Earl, as well as a host of family and friends
Please keep the family in your prayers.
