Mrs. Rebecca Jean Tate went home to Jesus on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Mrs. Jean was born in Philadelphia, MS to Barlow and Ora Stephens on September 29, 1943. She was married to Jack Tate, the love of her life, of Mendenhall, MS for 45 years. Mrs. Jean had one daughter, Ms. Rebecca Ann Ballard of Jackson, Miss. and one stepson, Mr. Jackie Dwayne Tate (Keyla) of Mendenhall, Mississippi. Mrs. Tate had 6 granddaughters, Ms. Michelle Barker, Ms. Renee Lewis (Walter), Mrs. Amy Surratt (Michael), Ms. Allison Brown (Dereck), Miss Anna Tate, and Miss Alexia Tate.


Mrs. Tate was a homemaker and also Vice President of Diversified Land Management, Inc. for some 26 years. She was a very outgoing person that was loved by everyone she came in contact with. During the summer of 2013, Mrs. Jean and Mr. Jack moved from Ridgeland, MS to Mendenhall, Mississippi to be near family members. Ms. Jean had a keen eye for everything beautiful and She never met a stranger.


Mrs. Jean will be deeply missed by her husband, Mr. Jack and all family, friends, and caregivers (Ms. Pat, Mrs. Nollie, and Mrs. Barbara). Mrs. Jean had a special bond with her best friend of over 20 years, Ms. Pat. She and Ms. Pat loved each other like sisters and She was the life of the party and brought joy to everyone around her.


Mrs. Jean is survived by her husband Mr. Jack, stepson Dwayne, Grandchildren Michelle, Renee, Amy, Allison, Anna, Alexa and Great Grandchildren Cassidy, Cheyenne, Anabele Brown, Mark Lewis and Moly Lewis. She is preceded ni her passing by her mother, Ora, father, Barlow, and her

daughter, Becky.


Visitation will be at Natchez Trace Memorial Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday September 3 and Immediately following visitation a funeral service celebrating her life will be held in the sanctuary with an internment to follow.


In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts and donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee.
