Jeffrey Hart Obituary

Jeffrey Hart—a man of courage, love, joy and, laughter—passed away on August 17, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 42. Born on October 15, 1981, in Dayton, Ohio, to parents Dale Hart and Ruth Hart. Jeffrey grew into a remarkable individual and amazing father.


He is a graduate of West Carrollton High School in 2000 and even began to serve our country while still in high school. His dedication to his country was evident in his eight years of service in the Army, with 558 signal company ; during which he bravely served overseas in the Operation for Iraqi Freedom. Jeffrey later pursued his passion for craftsmanship at a trade school, mastering the intricacies of welding, a skill he carried with pride.


Jeffrey was known for his adventurous spirit and love for athletics, which saw him complete four marathons, including the esteemed Air Force Marathon and the Flying Pig. His faithful Italian Greyhound, Leia, was a constant companion during his marathon training and a beloved member of the family. His favorite place to train was The Beavercreek Running Path - especially in the rain and enjoyed many runs with there with his wife, Andrea over the years .


Family was the cornerstone of Jeffrey's world. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Andrea Hart, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage and 21 years of treasured memories. They often reminisced about their marriage in Gatlinburg after returning home from his deployment overseas and they returned to several times over the years . He was a doting father who endeavored to instill a sense of wonder and excitement in his children, Lance and Chloe, whether through exploring new destinations on family vacations or engaging family board game nights. He was known to mix all of his interests and cares. Family night could be a nice nature hike or hunkered down watching a Marvel movie; one of his favorite things to do with family and friends


Jeffrey also found joy in the realm of fantasy and gaming. As an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft, he fostered a vibrant imagination that captivated his family and friends. Ever since he was young, he watched and obsessed over the Star Trek series which led him to conventions and dressing up as his favorite character, Captain Picard, later in life. He passed along his legendary gaming skills to his children who were learning to beat video games as early as 4 years old. Another passion of Jeffreys' were skills behind the counter. Jeffrey was an amazing cook who would make food for anyone who wanted to try. He was known to always create and try new things. The only thing he loved more than cooking was teaching someone else how to.


Jeffrey's legacy extends to his son, Lance Hart, daughter , Chloe Hart , brother, Greg Hart; parents, Dale (Denna) Hart , and Ruth Hart, step-siblings, Rebecca (Josh) Taylor, Rachel Woodward, Allan (Jenna) Lynch, and Brenna (Cody) Livesay; grandmother, Mildred Hart Brockie; his father in law, Mike D'Amico, sister in law Gina D'Amico , and brother in law Mike D'Amico -- with whom he shared a profound bond. Mourning their loss alongside are his wife Andrea, his children Lance and Chloe, and his faithful canine companion, Leia. Preceding him in death are his mother-in-law Rita D’Amico, best friend Matthew Sutton and late dog Homer who is greeting Jeffrey at Heaven’s door.
