Mary Katherine Franklin was born in Dearing, KS on May 2, 1939 to Edgar and Mable Franklin.  She was the 4th of 10 children.  She graduated North High.  She was a woman of many talents.  She made custom drapes at Sears & Roebucks for Many years.  She was also a family healthcare social worker for Stepping Stones, Headstart.  She enjoyed gift wrapping during the holiday season at Towne East Mall.  She was also a seamstress.  Everyone knew about her beautiful handmade3-dolls.  She enjoyed wallpapering, upholstery, painting.  She kept an immaculate house and lawn which she was very proud of.  She married Harold Blue and was blessed with 3 children - Anita, Gregory, and Carla.  She was so excited to live to see a black president.

Mary was a light that shined brighter than we deserved.  She always had a beautiful smile and embraced everyone she met.  She loved to give gifts to others and pass out sweets to the neighborhood children.  She loved her family and she loved to minister to them and others about the power of God and walking in salvation.  She was a faithful member of the church of the Living God since childhood.  She was a proud and faithful servant of the Lord.  She enjoyed being active in her church and fellowshipping with the saints of God.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Mable and Edgar; her siblings Major, Shirley, Marvin, Melvin, Wayne, Chan, and Junie; her grandson Nick- whom she affectionately called "Biggie".

Mary leaves behind 3 children, many grandchildren, many more great grandchildren, and a great-great child; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
