Lorraine Frances McCluskey Lobner, born on Christmas Day in 1927, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 at the age of 96. She was born in New Haven to the late Joseph and Anna Dwyer McCluskey. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert Lobner, retired Sergeant of the Hamden police department.
After her children went to school, she loved going off to work at Choate School and later at Quantum Inc. as an inspector. Lorraine enjoyed talking to the students from distant countries around the world and made some very good friends at Quantum. Lorraine loved to travel, shop, read and socialize. Bermuda, Maine, and Vermont were her favorite destinations. Bob and Lorraine devoted years of service to the American Diabetes Association and helped out at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford. She loved her family and always had a positive outlook on life.
Lorraine is survived by her three children: Kristine Russo (the late John Russo) of Bonita Springs, FL; Stephen Lobner (Kate) of Hamden and Leanne Anderson (John). She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jenifer Oliphant (Chad), Daniel Lobner (Jessica), Colleen Lobner (Roger Wood), Erik Lobner (Adriana) and Jesica as well as four great-grandsons: Michael Oliphant (Abby), Brandon Oliphant, Jack Lobner and Alex Lobner. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Lobner.
