Gregory Morris Perkins Jr. was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 9, 1966, to the late Gloria and Gregory Perkins Sr. He attended and graduated from South Fayette High School where he was a very proud member of the Basketball, Baseball and Football team.

Gregory continued his education in culinary art at the Commonwealth Technical Institute at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown, PA where he developed his skills in cooking and in management.

On July 29, 1995, Gregory married the love of his life Sherry Lynn Duke. Together they had two sons, Gregory Morris Perkins III and Evan Morris Perkins. Gregory cared deeply for his family.

In his lifetime Gregory touched the lives of many people with over 35 years as a caterer, manager, and then a Director of Dietary at the Juniper Village at South Hills.

Gregory was a true man of God. He served over 35 years as a leader at CCOP as a Marriage Mentor, Usher, Life Group Leader and served anywhere his help was needed. Most recently, he served as a Life Group Leader at Grace Life Church.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, Gregory was called to glory. He was preceded in death by his father Gregory Perkins Sr., his mother Gloria Perkins, Greg's sister Thelma Perkins and his brother Samuel Perkins. He leaves to cherish and mourn, his loving wife Sherry Perkins, his children Gregory Perkins III and Evan Perkins. His sister Lisa Dougherty and his brother-in-law Joseph Dougherty. Sister-in-law Mary Duke, brother-in-law William Duke, Sister-in-law Velma Minniefield and brother-in-law Lenny Minniefield. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Arrangements by BEINHAUER-FRYER. Family and friends welcome at 430 Washington Avenue, Bridgeville, PA 15017, on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Grace Life Church, 4555 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, 15237 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
