It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mary Ann at the Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife of Gaston Gagnon, loving mother of Guy of Timmins, Mark and Tina both of North Bay. Dearest grandmother of Samantha, McKenzie and Adam. She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Bourgon (Harvey) and Janet Steel and her sister-in-law Irene Sergerie. Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends and her cherished fur baby, Buster. Predeceased by her parents James and Barbara Steel, her sister Barbara-Jean Steel, her father-in-law Damien Gagnon and her brothers-in-law Mario Gagnon and Fernand Sergerie.


Mary Ann Graduated from Northern College later in life and worked in the office of the Timmins Square. She loved reading and doing crafts. She also spent many happy hours playing cards with friends at the Timmins Seniors Centre.


As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside burial will take place at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. In memory of Mary Ann, remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Humane Society would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
