Tom Ratcliffe Obituary

Tom Ratcliffe

February 6, 1930 – August 17, 2024

Tom passed away peacefully at the Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson on Saturday August 17th, 2024, after a short illness.

Tom was 93 and led a long and busy life.  He retired from finning in 1991, and from then on, he camped and fished to his heart’s content at White Swan Lake or Kootenay Lake.  Many winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona where he made many friends and enjoyed the sunny weather.

Tom was a warm, kind, and generous man who valued above all, his family and friends. He enjoyed his life right up until the end.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Shirley, daughters Colleen and Brenda, 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

At Tom’s request there will be no service, and instead he wishes to be remembered at a family reunion in the spring.

Hand in hand, as one unit, we sadly say goodbye.
