Our Earth Angel,
Regina was born on June 2, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Luther and Josephine Buie. She was the 3rd child, and the 2nd eldest daughter. She was educated in the Philadelphia School System, attending South Philadelphia High School, but later graduated from OIC Career and Academic Development Institute. In 1972, Genie was blessed with her one and only daughter, Mynell. Genie as some called her, had many hobbies including skating, going to amusement parks, hanging on the block, and dancing. She was over the top, and loved celebrating her birthday together with her cousin Ricardo Sr. She also loved hosting the family reunions. In her spare time, you can find her watching her TV shows: Murder She Wrote, Walker Texas Ranger, Matlock, Hawaii Five-O, Cheaters, SWAT, Criminal Minds, First 48, and Law and Order (Criminal Intent). She was a fun, loving, crazy, down to earth, and very out spoken. When she tapped into her creative side, during the holidays, she would design a Christmas tree with lights on the wall. She was also a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles Football team.
In 1977, Regina met the love of her life, Douglas Seville. They then formed a union in August 1979.
A Time to Plant,
Regina worked many jobs throughout her life such as Bessie and Migene’s Chinese Restaurant, Philco Ford Parts and Labor, and The Franklin Mint. In 1999, she relocated to Dover, Delaware where she began working at Delaware State University. She eventually retired from DSU. Unable to stay in retirement, Genie began working at the Capital School District and remained there until 2021. She decided it was time to take it easy.
