Mrs. Anna Manney Obituary

Anna Burnette Manney (Bonnie) was born May 31st, 1963, to Dorothy Young and Jesse Walker in Brownsville, TN.

Her family relocated to Kansas City, KS at the age of 3 years old.  She went on to graduate from Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO in 1982.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was a member of Epic Life Center.  Bonnie had a fulfilling career at Citibank where she dedicated nearly 30 years before retiring.

Bonnie had an infectious smile and laugh that brightened up any room.  She was the sweetest person you’d ever want to know, she always had a listening ear, and she never met a stranger.  But she was not to be crossed, being a true Gemini, she could flip in an instant, let you know when you were wrong, and use her words to shred you from head to toe with no problem.

No matter what name you knew her by, you knew she indeed was a FIGHTER and has won battle after battle for the more than two decades, but on August 17th, she decided to retire her boxing gloves and rest.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory: her mother Dorothy J. Young, two daughters Kiley Manney and Christian Howard, a fur son, Romeo Manney.  Two granddaughters, Kiya Draper and Ma’Liyah Nunnally, and one grandson Sidney Gilliam III.  Brothers: Johnnie Manney (Wonda), Alfred Macklin (Gwen), Andrew Walker, Claudis Walker (Lisa), Rody Walker (Debra), J.T. Curry (Vennie), and Leroy Sweet Sisters: Denetra Pouncil (Mark), Grace Shaw (Lynn), Helen Smith (Terry), and Shirley Sweet; a multitude of nieces and nephews, in addition to many lifelong friends, whom she considered family.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, 2pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel.  Visitation from 1pm-2pm at the chapel. Interment XII Gates Memeorial Gardens. Services conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
