Barbara Ellen Foster, “Barb” 84, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Montross, VA and White Plains, MD, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on September 4, 1939, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Elvira “Helen” Baicar and the late Paul Baicar. Barbara was the loving wife of the late John “Jack” Foster, whom she married on October 29, 1960, in Piscataway, MD, and who preceded her in death on June 7, 2012. Barbara is survived by her children, Matthew Foster (Vickie) of Spring Hill, FL and Katie Rose of Leonardtown, MD, her sibling, Lois McGowan of Lanham, MD, nine grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ann Smith and Pete Baicar.

Barbara graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1958 and was a receptionist for Herman/Stewart Construction, retiring in 2003.

Barbara was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan! She loved watching boxing, which was a treat she shared with her grandfather Jones. Barbara also loved music, with Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Lionel Ritchie, The Carpenters, and Neil Diamond being some of her favorites.
