Robert Alden Knight, born June 1, 1952, in St. Johns, MI, passed away on August 18, 2024, at 72, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. A beloved father, husband, brother, and friend, Robert had many admirable qualities and interests.
Affectionately known as Bob, he dedicated part of his life to serving his country as a member of the United States Army. Beyond his military service, Bob spent most of his career as a professional locksmith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. As an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines, he always found game days to be a special occasion. Bob also had a keen eye for antiques and collectibles, a hobby he enjoyed alongside his wife, Colleen.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughter, Kelly Knight of Lansing, MI; stepson, Brad (Cindy) Smith; stepdaughter, Jamie (Phil) Long; grandson, Jalen Whaley; brother, Philip (Linda) Knight of Chelsea, MI; sisters, Laura Young of Sarasota, FL, and Tracy and brother-in-law Michael Baker of Winter Garden, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Marilyn Knight, and his brother-in-law, Donald Young.
A celebration of life gathering for Bob will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the UAW Hall, 117 W. Walker Street, St. Johns, MI, where friends and family can come together to honor his memory and the life he led.
