Larry Dean Buswell, born on June 25, 1943, in the loving care of his parents, Aline and Lowell
Buswell, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital. Larry lived a life dedicated to service and his community.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Larry served his country honorably and continued that service through his involvement with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for many years. His commitment to his country and fellow veterans was a testament to his sense of duty. Larry spent his career as a dedicated diesel mechanic and truck driver, working tirelessly until his well deserved retirement. Even in retirement, his passion for hard work didn't wane, as he enjoyed working for Moseman Farms. He often would retell the events from the farm work at family meals.
Larry was passionate about sports, which he shared with his community by coaching softball and baseball. He was incredibly proud of his state runner-up legion baseball team and could relate stats and scores from the season until his death. He also dedicated countless hours as a football referee and softball umpire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aline and Lowell, his wife, Margaret, and two brothers, Jim and Ron.
Larry's memory will live on through his surviving family: his sister, Sharon Schiefelbein, of Topeka, KS; his daughter, Sandy (Ben), of Lyons, NE; and his son, Jim Buswell, of Oakland, NE. Larry was also a proud grandfather to Camden (Kora), Makenna, Miles, and Mason and a great-granddaughter, LynnLee Margaret.
