In every family, there is someone who stands as the cornerstone, the one who binds generations together with love, wisdom, and unwavering strength. For our family, that person was our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, a woman whose presence was felt in every celebration, every gathering, and every moment of our lives, happy and sad.
Argerl welcomed family and friends into her home for down-home southern cooking. Countless family gatherings and family sleepovers were held at the same home on Belle Avenue for over 50 years to help strengthen our family bond. Everyone was always welcome in her home for a place to eat or sleep.
Argerl was preceded in death by her brothers Levester Lindsey, Pastor Chester Lindsey, James Williams Lindsey, Napolean Lindsey, and Reverand Alexander Lindsey, sisters Margie Nell Lindsey, Lillie Pearl Thomas, and Dossie Gray, sister-in-law Leola Lindsey, special sister Rosie Lee Matthew, and special friend Thelma McCallum, nephews William Lindsey, Lawrence Moore, Gerald Lindsey, Jeffrey Lindsey, Tyrone Lindsey, Shawn Hamilton, Douglas Jones, Deon Thomas, and her son-in-law Roy Range, her nieces Sisco McKnight, Brenda Sherman, and her great grand-daughter Chosen Nelson.
Argerl is survived by two daughters, Linda Range of Joliet, IL, and Cynthia Nelson of Newton, IA. Nine grandchildren; Chiquita (Donald) Bayless, Marshawn Moore, Kilah Moore, Michael Moore, Kiwanda Nelson, Kimberly Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Cedric McCann Jr., and Patrick Davis Jr., Forrestine Nelson, Darlene Nelson, and Forest Nelson Jr. all of Joliet, IL. Two sisters, Bobbie Arrington and Jessenell Jones, both of Laurel, MS. special daughter-in-law Linda Weatherspoon-Moore of Joliet, IL; nieces, Elnora, Tammy, Wilma, Lisa, Robin, Tracy, Deatress, Sharon, Tisha, Brenda, Cassandra, Sheila, Charmette. nephews John, Robert, Jerry, Houston, Michael, Greg, Thomas Jr., Brian, Eddie, and special goddaughter Savannah Johnson, her 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
