Juan Navarro Diaz Obituary

In Loving Memory of Juan Navarro Díaz
**March 27, 1931— August 16, 2024**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juan Navarro Díaz, who left us on August 16, 2024, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Born on March 27, 1931, in Zacatecas, Mexico. Juan lived a life marked by quiet dignity and serenity. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in gardening and time spent with his family.

Juan was preceded in death by his wife Felícitas Cardona and his parents, four of his brothers and one sister. Despite these profound losses, he remained a pillar of strength for his family.

He is survived by his loving children, Olga (Frank) Ramirez, Carlos (Celia) Navarro, Estela ((Miguel+) Gallegos, Jaime(Maria) Navarro, Teresa (Alex) Camacho, Josefina(Mark) Gabala, Ortencia(Fidel) Iniguez, Homero Navarro, Juan (Patricia) Navarro, Efrén (Silvia) Navarro, Enereida Navarro and Francisco Navarro, 34 grand children, 35 great grandchildren, 1 sister, and 2 brothers. Juan also leaves behind a number of extended family members and countless friends who will forever miss his presence.

Juan created a home for his family in Mexico and Chicago. He spent his life in both places, cultivating not just the earth, but also the lives of those around him. A passionate gardener, he found immense joy in tending to his flowers and sharing his skills with family, friends, and neighbors. His garden was a reflection of his hard work, love, patience, and dedication —full of vibrant colors, nurtured over time.

Though Juan was not an avid dancer, his pride in his home state was unwavering. As a devoted Zacatecano, he would instantly rise to his feet at the first sound of 'La Marcha de Zacatecas,' a testament to his deep pride for his beloved Zacatecas.

The family will hold a funeral service to honor Juan’s life at Benson Family Funeral Home, on August 26th, from 4:00-8:00 PM. There will be a mass in his memory on August 27th at Our Lady of Mercy Church at 10:30 am. He will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery. Those who knew Juan are encouraged to gather and share in the love he leaves behind.

Though he has left this world, Juan’s spirit will connection will remain with us forever.
