Gordon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, of fifty-one years, Larraina, and his family on August 21, 2024. He was born on November 27,1939 in Minnesota to the late Martin and Ella (Christofferson) Nelson.
Gordon is survived by his children Tabitha (Bernard) Osborne, Jeffery (Reba) Nelson, and Bradley Nelson; his grandchildren Rebecca (Christian) Pelt, Christopher, Clayton, Cullen Nelson, Amy (Andrew) Simons, Brian (Marina) Nelson and Michael Nelson; his great-grandchild Asher and Aspen Simons. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his seven siblings Violet (Robert) Jenkins, Delores (Harlan) Knauf, JoAnn (Glenn) Grindeland, Dennis Nelson, Marvin Nelson, Roger (Deloris) Nelson, Raymond (Jeannie) Nelson; his in laws peter Rogars and Gertrude Clasen, brother-in-law Butch Rogars.
Gordon was a hard worker his entire life. He proudly served his country as a member of the Armed forces and was honorably discharged from the Army on June 30, 1964. He also worked at George J Myers from 1961-1966 at which point he decided that trucking was also a passion. Gordon drove a dump truck from 1966-1972 after which he moved on to work at Ampco Metals Inc. from 1972-2001.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and driving his dune buggy. He will be deeply missed by all. Funeral services will be held at Molthen-Bell Funeral and Cremations, 700 Milwaukee Ave., South Milwaukee, WI, 53172, on Saturday August 31, 2024. Visitation from 9-12, followed by a service. He will be laid to rest with full military honors on Tuesday September 3, 2024 at Forest Hill Memorial Park 3301 E Forest Hill Ave, Oak Creek, WI 53154
