Richard L. Riegler, Jr, 83, of Julian, passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Born on July 27, 1941, in Long Island, New York, he was the son of the late Richard L. Riegler, Sr. and Marion Riegler. He was married to his late wife Ellen L. Riegler for over 35 years.
Richard was an airman in the Air Force and serviced in the Vietnam war. He was an Air Traffic Controller for over 40 years where he retired from.
He is survived by his children, Betty M. Tucker (Glenn) of Fort Worth, Texas, Richard L. Riegler, III (Kelly) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Lorri A. Cevallos (Ricardo) of Daytona Beach, Florida, Chelsea D. Riegler of Somerset and Grant L. Kemmerer, III (Jamie) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, James Riegler, Peter Riegler, Lawrence Riegler, and Stephen Riegler, and a sister, Dorianne Parapar.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Riegler and a granddaughter Courtney M. Hendrix.
Richard was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Bellefonte.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 402 Willowbank Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, at the church, with Rev. John Snare officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will immediately follow in Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
