William P. LoConte Obituary

William P. LoConte, 83, of Marstons Mills passed away at home on August 17, 2024 with his family by his side. In spite of his long illness, he always maintained his wonderful sense of humor and unmatched kindness to anyone he met. Bill’s vanity license plate for over 30 years “BE KIND” says it all.

Born in Boston, MA, son of the late Anthony and Rita (Broderick) LoConte. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and worked for 35 years at Commonwealth Gas Company until his retirement. His hobbies included bowling, gardening, golfing, playing bridge, and handyman projects but he enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. He was a member of the Osterville Men’s Club and the Barnstable Newcomer’s Club.

Bill was a man of deep faith and was an usher at Most Precious Blood Church in Hyde Park for many years. Bill raised his family in Hyde Park before retiring to the home he built in Marstons Mills.

He was the loving husband of Anita LoConte (Mangiaracine) for 59 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gregory, his wife, Jane, their children, Charlotte and Nathan of Westford, MA; son, Jeffrey, his wife, Julie, and their son, Anthony, of N. Chelmsford; daughter, Michelle, and her son, Zachary of Hyde Park and Bourne. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen LoConte of Readville, Anthony LoConte of Norfolk and John LoConte of Isle of Palms, SC and is predeceased by the late Paul LoConte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Our family is most grateful to his many caregivers, Veteran’s Affairs, and Beacon Hospice.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 76 Wianno Ave., Osterville, MA. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please direct donations through the Department of Veteran’s Affairs edonate and select VA Providence Healthcare System (650) in Rhode Island.
