Patricia Ann Matsen (née Ceschin), age 70, of Brentwood, TN, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, after a battle with non-smoking lung cancer.

Patricia — affectionately called Pat or Patti by many — was born on February 10, 1954, to Mario and Neva Ceschin in Kenosha, WI. She is survived by her husband, Paul Matsen; her three daughters — Anna (Charlie) Cantrell, Carly (Thomas) Morgan,and Erica (Aaron) Gunter; her grandchildren — Matthew, Caitlin, Nora, Neil, Ethan, Addilynn, and Everitt; and her siblings, Joseph Ceschin and Susan Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mario and Neva Ceschin, and her niece and godchild, Katie Ceschin.

After graduating from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1976 , she began her 43-year career as a registered nurse. Shortly after starting her job at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, she met Paul Matsen on a night out with her friends at Saz’s Bar and Restaurant. After 3 years of dating, they wed each other on September 13, 1980, at Kemper Chapel. They moved to Nolensville, TN, in 1985, where she began her 33-year career at Southern Hills Hospital. After retiring in 2019, she enjoyed traveling with Paul and spending time with her grandkids. Because she always greeted everyone she met with a warm smile and an open heart, Patti was cherished by all who met her.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strong faith in God, and her unfailing ability to treat all people with kindness and love.

The visitation hours and funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood, TN. Visitation will be on Friday, August 23rd from 5 - 8 PM. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, August 24th at 11 AM, with a luncheon celebration immediately following.
