Janet Denise Minnitt Obituary

Janet Denise Minnitt was born to the parentage of Rufus Minnitt and Bobbie Campbell Minnitt on April 23, 1964 in Abilene, Texas. She was the fourth of five siblings.


Jan, as she was affectionately called, was a graduate of Dunbar High School Class of  1984. While at Dunbar, she was a freshmen cheerleader, ran track and played basketball. Jan continued her academic pursuit at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas; where she continued playing basketball and obtained a bachelor’s degree. Jan later attended Devry University in Irving, Texas, gaining a wealth of knowledge in the electrical field.


In 1995, Jan welcomed a bouncing baby boy to the world, who she named Jarrett, which was her pride and joy. She was later blessed to become a god-mother to Jeremiah Steele.


Jan was currently employed at Digital Room in Grand Prairie, Texas in the Quality Control Department. She was a very dedicated employee who was loved and respected by many.


Having a personal relationship with God, Jan united with Good Shepherd Temple of praise in 2012 and remained a member until her demise.


On Saturday, August 17, 2024, Janet Denise Minnitt answered the Master’s Call anddeparted this life to be reunited with her parents, Rufus and Bobbie Minnitt; grandparents, and her niece, Jame’, all whom preceded her in death.


Those left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy of love are her sons, Jarrettand Jeremiah; siblings, Mickey, Lee, Barbara, Lucy, Orita, Jeffery, Pam and Broderick;

and a grand host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
