Betty Kay Foster Obituary

Betty Kay Foster, 87, of Magnolia, AR went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born in Magnolia, AR, March 22, 1937, to J.H. and Carrie Aline McWilliams.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband W.D. “Dood” Foster, and her brother Jimmy McWilliams.

She is survived by her daughters Darrelyn (Steve) Winfrey of Haughton, LA and Melanie (Randy) Cathey of El Dorado, AR; a brother Terry McWilliams (Pamela) of Mabank, TX; grandchildren, Matthew (Tasha) Winfrey, Micah (Jessica) Winfrey, Ali Cathey, Rachel Cathey, and Evan Cathey; and great grandchildren Melody, Esperanza, Autumn, Jeshua, Caydee, Raylee, Jaycee, and Maycee.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church, Magnolia. She worked at Bancorp Bank for over 25 years, where she developed relationships with co-workers as well as her “customers.” She and Dood created many happy memories from the time spent at their “fishing cabin” on Lake Erling. Betty enjoyed family and friends. Holidays were happy times when the entire family would gather at the Foster home on Dogwood. Other favorite times included Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club, Thursday Morning Koffee Klatch, FBC bus trips, New Year’s Eve Rook parties at the Furrs, and Faith Sunday School Class.

The past ten years have presented significant health issues for Betty, resulting in confinement in her home with family. She will be fondly remembered for her “spunk and sass” throughout the health issues.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Renovation Fund of First Baptist Church, PO Box 456, Magnolia, AR 71754. Cremation services were provided by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

We would like to send a heart felt thank you to special cousin Venna Willis, special friend Melba Keith, and to the staff of Life Touch Hospice for the tender, compassionate, care our mother received the last months and days of her time here.
