Edith Isabella Major Obituary

Isabel Major passed away on Saturday August 17th, 2024, at home with her family by her side at the age of 89. Edith Isabella was born on April 18th, 1935, in Bakers Brook, Newfoundland to Janet and Thomas Decker. She was the youngest of 13 children.

Isabel is survived by her loving husband George of 70 years. She also leaves to mourn with fond memories her 5 children and spouses- Wade and Maureen, Joy and Gordon, Holly and George, Monty and Lori, Robin; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sister: Ruby Goosney, in laws: Marie and Milton Decker, Gerald and Margaret Major, Iris Barringer, Charles and Justine Major, Joyce Major and Shirley Major. She leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents: Janet and Thomas Decker; in-laws: Eli and Emma Major; her siblings and their spouses: Amy, Delilah, Roland, Leah, Phillip, Marjorie, Alexander, Elizabeth, Alma, Rita, Olga and members of George’s family plus many other family and friends. 

Funeral services will be on Friday August 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 am at the All Saints Anglican Church in Athabasca. Rev Terry Francis officiating.   

Interment to follow in the Athabasca Cemetery. 

Donations accepted to All Saints Anglican Church Building Fund.
