Ralph Wayne Bego, Jr., 88, of Goliad, Texas entered eternal rest on August 17, 2024. He was born January 30, 1936 in Fannin, Texas to the late Ralph W. Bego, Sr. and Leona Baker Bego.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Friday, August 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad, 214 N. Market St. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Ralph proudly served his country in the Army Reserve. He married his love, Barbara Bagley on August 23, 1959 in Martindale, Texas and together they raised 3 children. Ralph was Goliad ISD’s Special Education Director for many years. He was also a member of Goliad Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Ralph loved farming and ranching, fishing, golfing and being outdoors and reminiscing. He enjoyed fixing and driving antique tractors and was also a skilled craftsman. Ralph enjoyed being with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Bego; sister, Doris Freer and brother, Glenn Bego.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his daughter, Karen Ploetz (Reagan) of Seguin, Texas; sons, Russell Bego of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kevin Bego of Goliad, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Randal Ramirez (Esteban), Ross Bego, Reagan Vance (Spencer), Kassidy Bego, Kolin and Kaitlyn Ploetz; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jace and Kayden Ramirez, Tucker and Walker Vance.
The family requests that donations be made to Goliad Methodist Church or Goliad Senior Citizens.
