Linda Katherine Verdecchia, age 76, of Erie, passed away on August 17, 2024 at St Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. She was born August 27, 1947, a daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Saye) Carbaugh.
A lifelong resident of Erie, Linda married the love of her life, William L. Verdecchia, at St. Andrew Church, in their hometown. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years in 2002.
Linda was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Academy High School and was employed by General Partitions for 16 years. She enjoyed knitting, spending time at craft shows, caring for her home, and most of all laughing and enjoying life with her children and grandchildren.
She was the mother of Jennifer Sherer, husband Leonard, William A. Verdecchia, wife Christine and Mark N. Verdecchia, wife Mary; sister of Teresa Becker, husband Ronald, Marleen Peterson, husband Ronald, and Vincent Casler; sister-in-law of James A. Verdecchia, wife Kathy, Nicholas J. Verdecchia, Jean Ann Verdecchia, Rita Holder, husband Ned, and the late Robert A. Verdecchia; grandmother of Noah, Luke, Tyler, Mason, Brooke, Nathan and Emma. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 22, at St. James Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, from 9 am until the time of a Funeral mass at 11 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street is assisting with arrangements.
