Lois Catherine “Cathy” Carver (née Frost), 72, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on October 13, 1951, in Anna, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Lula Mae (Rogers) Frost.

Cathy was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City. She spent her early years in Southern Illinois before moving to Granite City at the age of eight. Cathy often fondly recalled her time living in Washington state and Oregon. A passionate supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cathy never missed a game, whether in person or on TV. She had a love for reading and traveling, and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Cathy loved photography, especially those capturing the beauty of hummingbirds and rustic barns in the countryside. Cathy was a loving mother and grandmother, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Lula Mae Frost; her husband, Reginald “Reg” Carver; her grandson, Curt Haeffner, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Jeff Smith.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Joey Williams, of Malvern, Arkansas and Stacy Smith, of Granite City, Illinois; her grandchildren, Joe Riggan, Austin Traylor, Brandon Williams, Hunter Williams, Jessica Martin and Brooke Riggan; her three great grandchildren; her brother, Gary (Debbie) Frost; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Family and friends may gather from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd., Granite City, Illinois.

Funeral: Service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2024, Irwin Chapel, Granite City with Pastor Wesley Hahn officiating. Interment will follow with a graveside service at 1:30 pm at Alto Pass Cemetery, Alto Pass, Illinois.
