Marcia E. Wortham, 85, of Rock Island passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Celebrate Senior Living, Moline.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left in care of the family.

Marcia was born on July 22, 1939 in Rock Island, a daughter of Carl Scott and Beatrice (Payton) Rose. She married Edward V. Wortham on July 16, 1962 in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2022. Marcia worked as a nurse’s aid at the East Moline State Hospital and later Friendship Manor in Rock Island.

Marcia’s hobbies included read novels, listening to 50’s doo-wop and watching old westerns. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rock Island, where she participated in the junior and young adult’s choir.

Those left to cherish Marcia’s memory include her three sons, Todd, Blake and Lamont Wortham; granddaughter, Stephanie Tucker; and siblings, Irma Davis, Gilbert Rose and Wayne Rose.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Silvia Cuningham and Beverly Rose.
