Mr. Robert “Bob” Howell Lentz, Sr. age 87 of Concord passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.


A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 22nd at 2 pm at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Marshall officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the narthex. Burial will follow the visitation at Oakwood Cemetery.


Bob was born March 23, 1937 in Cabarrus County and was the son of Charles Wilson Lentz and Anna Horton Lentz. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Dee” Petty Lentz, son Robert “Bobby” Lentz, Jr., granddaughter, Amanda Minutolo and son-in-law, Jeff Gray.


Bob had a long career in the trucking industry, retiring as Vice President/Treasurer with Fredrickson Motor Lines. He was a long time, active member at Epworth United Methodist Church. Throughout the years, he had served in various areas of the church including Chairman of Finance, Methodist Men’s Organization, and volunteering where there were needs. In later years, Bob enjoyed spending precious time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.


Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dedri Minutolo, Laura Gray, and Mary Margaret Richardson, and her husband, Chris; son, Danny Lentz and his wife, Suzanne; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Tempe Miller and her husband, Hilton; brother, Charles Lentz, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
