Frances Akin, 91, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY. She was born in Springfield, IL on February 12, 1933, to the late Clayton and Evelyn Reliford Keltner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Theron Akin, a son Stephen D. Paul and two siblings Johnny Wayne Keltner and Dixie Lee Wright.

Mrs. Akin attended the Trinity Church and enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and most of all babysitting many children that she considered her own grandchildren.

Survivors include a grandson Richard Edward Paul of Louisville, KY; two step grandchildren Samantha Jones (Casey) and Justin Childress; two step great grandchildren Penelope and Willow Jones; daughter-in-law Wilma Jean Paul of Louisville, KY; a sister-in-law Violet Keltner; a brother-in-law Junior Brown (Marilyn); a former daughter-in-law Vickie Withers Thompson; three nephews Rod, Brad and Rick Keltner; special caregivers Cara Brown (Chad) and their daughters Macy Shively and Ally Brown.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00am-2:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Steve Pescosolido will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Rod Keltner, Brad Keltner, Junior Brown, Chad Brown, Brad Brown, and Jeralyn Spires.
