It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Knox Lane Ellis, who left this world far too soon on August 17, 2024, at the age of 7, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Knox was born on June 21, 2017, and in his short life, he brought immeasurable joy and love to all who knew him. With a vibrant spirit, a heart full of kindness, and an infectious smile, Knox had a way of brightening every room he entered. He never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went with his warm and welcoming nature. Knox loved nothing more than being outdoors, barefooted, chasing lizards and bugs, and spending quiet moments fishing. His happiest times were spent with his Central School family and his rodeo family, where his adventurous spirit and love for life were truly on display.
Knox is survived and cherished by his parents, Samantha Gibbons Ellis and Mitchell James Ellis, and his beloved brothers, Karson James Ellis and Boone O'Shea Ellis. He shared a special bond with his great-grandmother, "Granny" Leila Pittman, who was the most important person in his life. He will be deeply missed by his grandparents, Marci and Jeff Palmer, Nancy and Doyle Ellis, and Kenny Gibbons. Knox was also loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Pace Assembly of God, 3948 US-90, Pace, FL 32571. A service celebrating Knox's life will follow at 6:00 PM, officiated by Pastor "Uncle" Robbie Turner. A private burial will be held at a later date.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Knox’s memory to “Knox Lane Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund”, handled by The First Bank in Pace.
Though Knox’s time with us was far too brief, the light he brought into our lives will never fade. He will always be remembered for his boundless energy, love of adventure, and the deep connections he made with his family, friends, and the great outdoors.
