Margaret C. “Maggie” Millas, 85, of Hamilton, NJ, entered into her eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton surrounded by her loving family. Maggie as she was affectionately known was born in Bristol, PA but resided in the greater Trenton/Hamilton area for most of her life. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1957.
Maggie worked as a telephone operator for NJ Bell prior to having her only daughter, Alexa.
After having Alexa she was a stay at home mom, who loved to dote on her family. She attended all of her daughter’s sporting events and supported her always.
Maggie was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox community, where she was a member of its Seniors. She also worked many years for the yearly festival, including just this past May.
Maggie loved to cook for her family, and took great pride in hosting for the holidays.
She doted on her husband Lee of 58 years.
Maggie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, niece, cousin, and friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
Daughter of the late Thomas F. and Rae (Mauro) O’Connell; Maggie leaves behind to mourn her loss, her beloved husband Leonidas “Lee” Millas; her loving daughter, Alexa Millas and her partner Liz Palmieri; her aunt Cecellia D’Ambrosia of Fairless Hills, PA; cousins, Michael and Deborah D’Ambrosia of Levittown, PA and their children, Amy and Mikey D’Ambrosia; her lifelong family friends, Pat Wendrzycki and John and Barbara Guadagno.
A special thank you to all her cherished friends from St. George Greek Orthodox Church and her close friends from her community at Traditions, especially her friend and neighbor Marilyn Beasley who was like a guardian angel these past few years.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd., Hamilton, NJ. Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maggie's memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
