Gloria Jane (Martin) Stuckey, 82, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024 at the home of her daughter with loved ones close by.
Born on October 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles Andrew Martin and Mildred Hines Martin.
She spent her high school years as an enthusiastic cheerleader for the Martinsburg Bulldogs, and later had a career with Potomac Edison. Yet the most valuable position to her was being a stay at home Mom where she created many lifetime memories for her daughter, Kelli. Gloria explored several hobbies and personal interest over the years, such as sewing, ceramics, cooking, horse racing, psychology, learning to play the banjo, watching basketball, football and sitting around and picking hard shell crabs.
She is survived by one daughter, Kelli Stuckey and one grandson, Ashtonn Stuckey-Law of Martinsburg, three sisters, Peggy Haymore of Hurt, VA, Mary (Happy) Crim and Rosie Schaeffer of Martinsburg; and brother, Charles “Sonny” Martin of Martinsburg, as well as a herd of loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Jerry W. Stuckey, her husband of 54 years, two sisters, Betty Lou Berens and Mildred Ann Alger of Martinsburg; and brother, Philip Larry Martin of Martinsburg.
Services will be private, and donations are asked to be made in her name to Hospice of the Panhandle at 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430. Go grab a white and yellow daisy to plant and enjoy at your home, as that was her favorite flower.
