Kevin Donahue, 65, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Procession from the funeral home to Elmwood Cemetery for a Graveside Service will follow the visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Buzzy’s in Welton.
Kevin Gerald Donahue was born June 1, 1959, in DeWitt, Iowa, to Gerald and Roberta (Farwell) Donahue. He graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt. He began his career at Eclipse Lumber Yard in DeWitt. While working at Payless Cashways in Davenport, he met the love of his life, Julie Dolan, and they were united in marriage on July 14, 1984. The couple resided in Bettendorf, until moving to DeWitt in 1990. Kevin retired from Spahn & Rose in 2020.
Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting and fishing. He had a love for playing sports, such as slow-pitch softball, bowling and golf. He also refereed and umpired baseball and basketball games for many years. Most of all, he loved the company of friends and family while enjoying a cold beer and watching his favorites, the Iowa Hawkeyes and Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving are his wife, Julie and their children, Nicole Donahue, and Joseph (Alyssa) Donahue and their 2 children, Paxton and Quinn; Kevin’s son Shaun (Kari) Donahue, and his daughter, Samantha; his mother Roberta; siblings, Mary Miller, Teresa Donahue, Pat (Deb) Donahue, Tom (Michelle) Donahue, and Vince (Barb) Donahue; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald, a brother, Bob, and a niece, Kate.
