Julie Ann Casadont, 88, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at Door County Medical Center on August 17, 2024.    She was born July 30, 1936, in Grand Rapids, MN to Edwin and Mary (Bruno) Bolin.  On June 8, 1957, she married Ronald R. Casadont in Grand Rapids.  Julie and Ron moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1964, when Ron took a teaching position at Sturgeon Bay High School.  Together they raised five children.

Julie worked as a salesperson for Prange’s, which later became Younkers, for 25 years.   She was an active volunteer in the community for numerous organizations including: the Door County Hospital Auxiliary, Feed and Clothe My People, the Welcome Wagon, and Meals on Wheels.  For years she also collected information for the Census Bureau.

Julie enjoyed socializing with the Red Hatters, playing cards with the Friday card group, traveling, reading, bike riding, attending community events and was an avid Packer fan.   She was a very sociable person, loved conversation, and cherished her many good friendships.  Julie especially loved sitting in the sun, spending time with family, and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her five children, Karen (Tony) Gosser, Sturgeon Bay; Steve (Lou), Athens, GA; Paul (Gloria) Danville, CA: Jeff (Marsha) San Diego, CA: Jon (Jeanne), Kenosha: six grandchildren, Tatiana, Matthew, Marco, Indigo, Aggie, and Winter.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Jerold Bolin.

Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the United Methodist Church.  Friends may call at the church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday until the time of services. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
