Eleanor Rose Eubank Eubanks, 90, of Kinston passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
She was born to the late Durant and Minnie Lee Eubank in Lenoir County.
Eleanor had a passion for quilting and was a member of the Neuse Quilter's Guild for many years. Quilting was a craft she had perfected. Her quilts, each a labor of love, were a testament to her patience, skill, and eye for color and detail. Every stitch told a story, and her quilts have provided warmth and comfort to countless family and friends.
A lover of good food and good company, Eleanor was a frequent visitor to Lovick's Cafe, where she loved to have bacon, home fries, and coffee. It was at Lovick's Cafe where many laughter and stories were told over breakfast with her family.
A member of Kinston Pentecostal Holiness Church, Eleanor had a special fondness for the Golden Light Ministry, and enjoyed the many trips and times spent with her church family.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Elwood Ori Eubanks, Sr., her parents Durant and Minnie Lee Eubank, siblings Kathleen Eubanks, Margaret Humphrey, William Henry Eubank, David Eubank, Robert Lee Eubank, and Fountain Lee Eubank.
She is survived by her son, Elwood Ori Eubanks, Jr. (Judy), and daughter, Theresa Eubanks Beverly, both of Kinston; grandchildren Wendy Eubanks Rogers (Brian), Andy Eubanks (Mindy), Brandon Beverly (Mallory), Meredith Beverly Jenkins (Corey), and Candace Beverly; great-grandchildren London and Laytham Rogers, Avery Mooring (Tyler), Addison and Asher Eubanks, Tyson Beverly, Alexander Pridgen, Aubrey Jenkins, and Dmitri Roberts. She also leaves behind her lifelong best friend, Ms. Sadie Eubank.
A visitation will be held at Kinston Pentecostal Holiness Church on Tuesday, August 20th at 6 o’clock in the evening, with the funeral service beginning at 7 PM. Burial services will be held on Wednesday, August 21st at 1 o’clock at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
