Mildred Kathleen Brewer Blalock, 96, of Graham, NC passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 17, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the wife of the late Jacob Floyd Blalock, Jr. and the daughter of Elbert Foy Brewer and Josie Franklin Sykes Brewer, both deceased. She was a graduate of Alexander Wilson School, and later worked in the food service area of the Alamance County School System. Mildred loved spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, and crafting. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and was an avid Elvis and Tar Heel fan. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Hico Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Joyce Mize and husband Norman (deceased) of Graham, NC, Billie Evans and husband Wade of Rockwell, NC, Cathy Ashley and husband Tommy of Snow Camp, NC, Debbie Blalock and husband Fred Shoffner of Liberty, NC, Tim Blalock and wife Kathy of Graham, NC, and David Blalock and wife Linda of Snow Camp, NC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren (spanning five generations); three sisters, Martha Cobb and husband Roy Lee (deceased) of Burlington, NC, Kay Reynolds of Graham, NC, and Faye Isley and husband Donald (deceased) of Graham, NC; sisters-in-law, Joy Brewer and Dot Blalock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; five siblings, Virginia Davis (Auburn), Winfred “O’boy” Brewer (Mildred), Doris Davis (Harold), Gene Brewer, and Mary Pickard; and her brothers and sisters-in-law.

The funeral service will be conducted at Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Howard Spray with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
