Gertrude "Gertie" Levendosky Pinskey, aged 96, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, August 17, 2024, at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Born in Everson, Pennsylvania on January 27, 1928, Gertie lived a life marked by love, faith, and gentle kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Gertie was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. Gertie was a 1946 graduate of Scottdale High School and spent her professional career as a dedicated Inspector at Anchor Hocking Glass, South Connellsville from which she retired in 1982. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her commitment to quality, traits that were reflected in every aspect of her life. A woman of many passions, Gertie will be remembered for the exquisite baked goods she lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and sweetness, much like her personality. Her early years were also spent tending to her flower gardens. Gertie's loving spirit extended to her family, who will miss her deeply. She is survived by her devoted sister, Joan Oswald of Scottdale; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Demagall Levendosky of Everson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were blessed to have her as an aunt. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert "Bob" Pinskey, whom she cherished until his passing on April 4, 2007, preceded her in death. Gertie was also predeceased in death by her brothers, Edward, Daniel, Raymond, William, and Thomas Levendosky; her sisters, Helen Pogwizd, Maryann Dinie, Irene DeRuyter, and Clair Gallagher; and a special niece, Daine Oswald.
