Marianne was born to Otto and Ann (Grotte) Quiring in Mountain Lake, MN on November 15, 1935. Marianne graduated in 1954 from Worthington High School. She had several occupations throughout her life. She attended Worthington Christian Church. Marianne’s favorite thing in life was giving to others. Marianne married Arvin Whelan which was later dissolved; she married Alan Armstrong which was later dissolved. Marianne Armstrong peacefully entered into the eternal life on August 17, 2024, at the Colonial Manor in Lakefield, MN.    

     Marianne is survived by her daughter, Pamela Roberts of Lenoir City, TN; her son, Patrick Whelan of Laguna Nigel, CA; her ex-husbands, Arvin Whelan and Alan Armstrong; sister, Barbara (Mick) Christians of Windom, MN; brother, Doug (Sharon) Quiring of Worthington, MN, and sister-in-law, Janice Quiring of Worthington, MN.

     Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Kerry Whelan, Michael Whelan, and Marty Whelan, and one brother, Daryl Quiring.

     Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Worthington Christian Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Doug White officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church.
