Dale D. Hungerford, Sr., 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 8:30 am in , Michigan City, IN.

Funeral services will be held at Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St. Michigan City, Indiana.  Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Wednesday  from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM  and Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.  The John Miller American Post #37 will conduct full military honors Thursday in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

He was born October 21, 1937 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Beryl and Leota (Austin) Hungerford. On May 21, 1960 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Beverly Kniola who preceded him in death on June 9, 1994.

Surviving are daughter, Michelle Lockhart of Michigan City, Indiana; two sons, Dale (Robin) Hungerford, Jr. of La Porte, Iindiana, and Terry Hungerford of Michigan City, Indiana; two Grandchildren, Keegan (Danielle Powers)  Hungerford of The Pines, Michigan City, Indiana, and Brittany (Tony) Pickett of Hamlet, Indiana; five great-grandchildren along with three sisters, Darlene Glassman and Linda Novreske both of Michigan City, Indiana,and  Sharon Glassman of Rolling Prairie, Indiana.  Preceding him in death was his sister, Joan Fredenburg;   

Dale retired from Crane Operator at Burn Bailing Company. Port of Indiana.  He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council # 12951, the American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37 and the Moose Family Center 980. Dale enjoyed fishing and riding his Honda Goldwing.
