Angelina C. Rodriguez, left this world to enter the gates of Heaven on August 16, 2024. The Lord allowed her to pass peacefully. Her passing is not to be a sad occasion as she was blessed to live 93 years. Always thanking God for another day still possessing her cognitive ability. She was born October 1, 1930 to Nicasio and Paula Casias. When she was a young adult, Angelina attended a local dance. It was then when she met her would-be husband, Pete Rodriguez. They dated for while and later married. Together they had two daughters and two sons.
Throughout her life Angelina often worked to help raise her children. She worked at Creative Cabinets and Patio Foods. Angelina was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and wife. She had concern for everyone and wanted to make sure that whoever crossed her threshold always had something to eat. Angelina was the first to offer help to others in need. Supportive and encouraging of her children, wise and kind, strict, but firm she was proud of them all. Her work didn’t stop after her children were grown, she continued caring for and raising her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Angelina, was known for her love of cooking. Family members couldn’t wait for thanksgiving to come around so they could eat her delicious cornbread. Her children often said, “Mom can make something out of nothing and it always tastes good!” She took pride in teaching her children and grandchildren how to cook. Her famous cornbread recipe is now a tradition that she handed down to her daughters who will in turn pass it down to theirs. Angelina was a Christian woman who prayed daily for her family. She enjoyed making jewelry and gardening. Angelina took great care of anything that she did or owed. Her jewelry was fashionable, her yard well-manicured, her plants groomed and watered. Angelina would wake her children up early on the weekends to clean. Her home was well maintained, clean, crisp, and in order. Angelina’s favorite colors were red and white.
Angelina will be remembered as a generous, selfless, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who was determined even when times were tough. Being a cancer survivor, she always looked to a better future. Even now many hearts are being changed because they remember her constant nurturing love and dedication to her faith. She inspired, she taught, and was a wonderful role model right to the end.
Angelina, joins her parents, Nicasio and Paula Casias, sisters, Augustina Delgado, Pauline Anthony, Dora Vasquez, and Mary Lou Casias, brothers, Henry Casias, Nick Casias, and Manuel Casias in heaven.
