Maureen A. Smeraglino, age 78, of Trumbull, the loving wife of the late Philip A. Smeraglino, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, August 17, 2024. Born in Bridgeport to the late Tim and Elizabeth Scanlon, she worked as a cashier at Stop & Shop prior to her retirement.
Maureen always loved listening to music, spending time with her grandchildren and attending many of their sporting events.
Maureen is survived by her children and their spouses: Dawn & Tony Fama, Ann Marie & Paul Astles, and Philip & Talicia Smeraglino; her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake-Philip, Joseph, Alex, Jenna and Sarah; her brothers and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Nancy (predeceased) & Thomas Minotti, Donna & Louis Pasacreta, Michael & Debbie Smeraglino, Dominic & Linda Smeraglino, and Anthony & Suzann Smeraglino, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet her family on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield. A memorial service will be held immediately after the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
