BLANKENSHIP, Pru Van Rae – 81

Pru Van Rae Blankenship, 81, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 4:16 a.m. at her residence with her daughter, Sonja by her side. Pru was born on June 28, 1943, in Lafayette to the late Ole and Dora (Simonson) Sundt. She graduated from Attica High School in 1961 and went on to work as a Customer Service Representative for Lafayette Venetian Blinds for 25 years before retiring in 2013. Pru enjoyed spending time with her dogs, playing cards, watching Food Network, and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was an avid Purdue fan. Pru was always laughing and having fun.

Surviving are three children, Sonja (Joe) Myers, Chris (Becky Corbin) Blankenship, and Dustin Blankenship, and her close friend and caregiver, Tanya Spence. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt) Chaney, MacKenzie (Craig) Bastian, and four great grandchildren, River, Maysen, Warren, and Eli.

She is preceded in death by five siblings, Dwayne Sundt, Garlyn Sundt, Jenner Sundt, Lorraine Stevens, and Hope Blankenship.

Services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care with Celebrant Theresa Fischer officiating.
